Ci sono tre interessanti novitÃ che riguardano la societÃ di Mountain View che vorrei riportarvi: OpenID, Android e Native Client!

OpenID vs Facebook Connect

EviterÃ² di farvi notare i rischi relativi alla privacy (e non solo) che comporta l'uso di questi social network, ma settimana scorsa Ã¨ stata lanciata la novitÃ (?) da parte di Facebook. Si tratta di Facebook Connect un sistema simile al sistema open source di OpenID, che Ã¨ stato adottato in larga misura da Google e altri partner come anche MySpace.
Per chi non ne sapesse nulla, si tratta di un sistema di autenticazione: anzichÃ© doverci ricordare un nome utente/password, useremo un indirizzo web univoco, presso un servizio web che dovrebbe garantire sulla nostra identitÃ .
Ãˆ un palese attacco mediatico, anche se ci sono aspetti di OpenID che ne rallentano l'adozione globale. In ogni caso Google a Facebook Connect, ha risposto con Friend Connect... chissÃ se porterÃ da qualche parte tutto ciÃ² o se alla fine resteremo con OpenID.

Google Android T-Mobile G1

Leggo dal blog di Harald Welte che Android, ora che Ã¨ diventato disponibile all'acquisto, non sia cosÃ¬ open. Infatti il kernel che Ã¨ possibile caricarci dev'essere firmato crittograficamente, non dall'utente proprietario, ma da Google/Android/T-Mobile/HTC. Insomma questo -giustamente secondo Welte- sarebbe sensato se il telefono fosse in affitto, ma a quanto pare se lo possiedi non puoi farci nulla. Bella mossa! E il punto non Ã¨ che Ã¨ -chiaramente- possibile aggirare questo blocco...

Native Client

Stamane leggo di Native Client, un sistema in diretta competizione con ActiveX di Microsoft. Quest'ultimo ha sempre sofferto di enormi problemi di sicurezza, e da quello che dicono a Mountain View, il loro prodotto dovrebbe evitare queste falle. NaCl Ã¨ -attualmente- rilasciato con licenza BSD Open Source ed Ã¨ realizzato come plugin per eseguire codice nativo su diverse piattaforme. ChissÃ se Ã¨ possibile soppiantare quel bellissimo e non documentato plugin di OSG e finalmente salutare ActiveX!
